About us 

Hafík Třeboň, z.s. is a nonprofit organization that has been operating since 2001 and specializes in animal assisted services and there professional methodological support. The organization’s mission is to improve the quality of life of children, seniors, people with specifics needs, and the general public through professionally guided activities with therapy dogs. The association cooperates with schools, social service facilities, senior homes, and individual clients, and actively contributes to community life in the region. The organization is accredited by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic as a volunteer center and is a member of important national and international associations (AVPO, NAD, IAHAIO, ICofA), which commit it to adhering to international standards. 

Significant Awards 

In 2023, Hafík participated in the 10th annual Nonprofit Organization of the Year awards, which recognize organizations that, through their long term and high quality work, make a significant contribution to positive changes in Czech society and are able to inspire donors and the generál public. Hafík Třeboň was selected by the jury as a semifinalist for this prestigious award. 

In December 2025, Hafíl Třeboň received the Governor of the South Bohemian Region’s Award for Social Responsibility. The award was granted for its long term and systematic work im the field of public benefit activities and for its responsible approach to fulfilling its role in society. As part of the expert committee’s evaluation, Hafík Třeboň ranked 1st in the category Public Sector Organization with up to 50 Employees, competing against other organizations from across The South Bohemian Region. 

Core Activities of the Organization:

professional implementation of animal assisted services as one of the methods of psychosocial health support for people of all age groups,
professionalization and development of all applied animal assisted service methods (AASP, AAT, AAE),
training and preparation of teams providing animal assisted services 
assesment of dog’s personality traits - PADA (Personality Assessment for Domestic Animals), 
educational and advisory activities for the general public (organization of courses and seminars), 
providing information to those interested in the implementation of animal assisted services, 
support for inclusive trends in society and strengthening community cohesion.
